The following questions concern how you generally feel in important close relationships in your life . Think about your past and present relationships with people who have been especially important to you, such as family members, romantic partners, and close friends. Respond to each statement in terms of how you generally feel in these relationships. The scale consists of 18 items scored on a 5 point likert-type scale. It measures adult attachment styles named “Secure”, “Anxious” and “Avoidant”, defined as:
• Secure = high scores on Close and Depend subscales, low score on Anxiety subscale
• Anxious = high score on Anxiety subscale, moderate scores on Close and Depend subscales
• Avoidant = low scores on Close, Depend, and Anxiety subscales

Scoring : Please note this scale measures Secure/ Close, Avoidant, and Anxious attachment styles. For rating purposes, the scale included Disorganized, or Mixed, Attachment within the Anxious rating. The score will display the number of questions answered flagged for the first three attachment styles. If you notice that the numbers are close for both avoidant and anxious, then it may be possible you have a disorganized, or mixed, attachment style. This attachment style is more likely to occur with neurodivergent individuals, those that experienced acute trauma, history of traumatic brain injury, or those that experienced developmental trauma.
